Chandigarh, Aug 20 (NationPress) In light of the escalating tension across two districts in Haryana regarding the mysterious death of a 19-year-old playschool teacher discovered deceased in a field, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has officially proposed a CBI investigation into the case to ensure full justice.
“In response to the family's plea, we are committed to achieving complete justice through a CBI inquiry,” stated the Chief Minister.
He emphasized that the administration is dedicated to operating with transparency to secure justice for Manisha and her family.
Earlier, in a post on the social media platform X, he remarked, “The state government and police are diligently working to ensure justice for our daughter Manisha from Bhiwani and her family. I am personally overseeing the case reports.”
Following the police's conclusion that foul play was absent based on the autopsy findings, district officials engaged in discussions with a committee formed by local villagers representing the victim's family. This resulted in an agreement to cremate the body on Tuesday, although the last rites were not performed.
Police reports indicate that the victim referenced her parents' disappointment in a suicide note.
Nevertheless, the family of the victim has accused law enforcement of delaying the filing of a formal complaint.
Residents from the victim's hometown have dismissed the police's suicide narrative and initiated an indefinite sit-in protest, demanding a CBI investigation.
As a precautionary measure, authorities suspended mobile internet, bulk SMS, and dongle services in Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri districts for a duration of 48 hours.
Manisha had been missing from her school in Singhani village, Bhiwani since August 11, and her body was discovered near a canal two days later.
Initially, law enforcement labeled it a murder case and filed a first information report (FIR) under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Her father, Sanjay, asserted that his daughter would never take her own life.
“The administration claims she ended her life, but I don’t believe that. I demand justice,” he expressed in a video message.
Previously, Chief Minister Saini mandated the transfer of the Superintendent of Police along with five police officers in relation to her death.
Bhiwani-Mahendergarh MP Dharambir Singh met with the family and recognized police oversights, assuring prompt arrests and action against negligent personnel.
