The Haryana government has rolled out a comprehensive, multi-layered security framework across 19 districts for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG 2026), scheduled for 21 June 2026. The arrangements, ordered on the directions of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, are designed to ensure a fair, peaceful, and transparent examination environment for every candidate appearing in the state.

Districts and Centre-Level Security

The exam will be conducted across Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Hisar, Rewari, Jind, Nuh, Bhiwani, Palwal, Sirsa, and Mahendragarh. Each centre will be secured with adequate police personnel, duty magistrates, dedicated men and women frisking teams, and Quick Response Teams (QRTs).

Chief Minister Saini directed officials to ensure proper arrangements for security, traffic management, medical assistance, drinking water, and other essential facilities, reaffirming the government's commitment to providing every candidate a fear-free and impartial environment.

What the DGP Ordered

Director General of Police (DGP) Ajay Singhal confirmed that the Haryana Police is fully prepared for the examination. He directed all Police Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, and senior officers to maintain regular monitoring, conduct surprise inspections, and continuously review security arrangements at every centre.

The DGP warned that strict legal action would be taken against exam mafias, disruptive elements, and those spreading rumours. He appealed to candidates and parents to adhere to prescribed guidelines and to report any suspicious activity to authorities immediately.

Dual-Layer Frisking System

A dual-layer frisking system has been instituted at all examination centres. The first round of screening will be conducted by police and Home Guard personnel before candidates reach the main gate, while the second will be carried out by security staff on the premises. At least one frisking personnel member will be deployed for every 100 candidates, with women constituting at least 50 per cent of frisking teams. Hand-held metal detectors will also be in use throughout.

Why the Heightened Vigil Matters

This comes amid sustained national scrutiny of NEET conduct following controversies in previous years over paper leaks and malpractice. The National Testing Agency (NTA), which administers the exam, has faced repeated calls for reform. Haryana's multi-agency deployment signals that state governments are taking independent ownership of examination integrity, supplementing central oversight. With lakhs of medical aspirants appearing across the country on the same day, any security lapse carries outsized consequences for students and public trust alike.

All security arrangements are expected to remain in place through the conclusion of the examination on 21 June 2026, with post-exam review meetings scheduled by senior police officials.
