Chandigarh, Sep 16 (NationPress) Haryana's Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi announced on Tuesday that the government has successfully transferred Rs 1.06 lakh crore through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes, radically transforming welfare distribution by ensuring timely, transparent, and efficient delivery to millions of residents.
This achievement highlights the state's dedication to minimizing leakages and improving accountability, resulting in substantial declines in ghost beneficiaries and duplicate registrations.
During the fourth meeting of the Advisory Board on DBT, he emphasized the importance of Nodal Officers consistently updating beneficiary data on the state DBT portal. This initiative aims to guarantee seamless integration of Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) and Aadhaar details, enhancing service delivery's efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
Rastogi stated that the backbone of Haryana's DBT triumph is its commitment to efficiency and accountability in government processes. This strategic move has expedited benefit transfers to eligible citizens and drastically cut down on the historic issues of leakages and duplicate payments.
A significant number of 36.75 lakh potential ghost, fake, or duplicate beneficiaries have been identified and eliminated from the system, resulting in substantial savings for the state’s treasury.
Since the fiscal year 2014-15, actual savings attributed to DBT have reached an impressive Rs 1,182.22 crore, with cumulative notional savings totaling Rs 10,187.13 crore by the end of the previous fiscal year.
