  • Justice Sameer Jain highlighted the integrity breach due to a paper leak.
  • The government is focused on punishing the actual wrongdoers.
  • Trainee SIs claim they are innocent and deserve fair treatment.
  • Ongoing investigations revealed serious misconduct in the recruitment process.

Jaipur, Feb 18 (NationPress) The Rajasthan High Court convened on Tuesday to discuss the Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment matter.

During the proceedings, Justice Sameer Jain posed a critical question to the state government: "When officials from the selection agency leaked the examination paper 35 days ahead of time, does the government not recognize that the integrity of the entire recruitment process has been compromised?"

In reply, Additional Advocate General Vigyan Shah, representing the state, asserted that "a simple breach of sanctity cannot justify the cancellation of the entire recruitment process."

The government reiterated its position, stressing, "We are committed to taking stringent action against those responsible. If the recruitment is annulled at this juncture, it would be grossly unfair to those who took the exam honestly and treat them as offenders. Our primary goal is to address the actions of the guilty first."

"According to legal standards, recruitment can only be annulled if it is impossible to differentiate between those who leaked the paper and those who participated in the examination fairly. We have not yet reached that conclusion."

The High Court acknowledged that deliberations on the case are ongoing, with additional arguments from the government slated for Wednesday.

The case includes multiple stakeholders, comprising the petitioners, the government, and trainee SIs.

The petitioners are advocating for the complete annulment of the recruitment, referencing support from the Special Operations Group (SOG), Police Headquarters, Advocate General, and the Cabinet Sub-Committee.

Conversely, trainee Sub-Inspectors assert that they were not involved in the paper leak. They emphasize that they forfeited other government job prospects for this position and that canceling the recruitment would be unjust to them.

The 2021 SI recruitment examination faced severe issues due to a paper leak. Investigations by the SOG revealed the use of dummy candidates and fraudulent tactics to obtain jobs.

Approximately 50 trainee SIs were arrested, with 25 having received bail from the High Court.
