Chennai, May 8 (NationPress) The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has raised a heavy rain alert for numerous districts across Tamil Nadu, anticipating an early arrival of the southwest monsoon in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
The weather agency forecasts heavy rainfall throughout the state until May 13. Moderate rain is anticipated in Chennai over the upcoming days, as per RMC officials.
Additionally, a warning for heavy rain has been issued for areas such as Pudukkottai, Sivaganga, Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Cuddalore, Kallakurichi, Nilgiris, and the mountainous regions of Coimbatore, Theni, and Dindigul.
The forecast also suggests light to moderate rain at isolated spots across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching up to 30-40 km/h until May 13.
