New Delhi, July 3 (NationPress) In an exciting turn of events, a few online food delivery services are preparing to partner with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in the Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh to distribute delicious meals. Zomato and Swiggy will soon be responsible for delivering the culinary delights crafted in the Him Ira canteen.
Currently, the canteen offers a variety of snacks and dishes such as Siddu, Bhalle, Kachori, and Seera, in addition to momos and chowmein. This is a significant initiative as it highlights the hard work of women from SHGs by bringing their culinary skills to a broader audience through online delivery.
This initiative has been spearheaded by the state government, which has aided SHGs from the Jangalropa and Nalti regions in launching their culinary operations.
Moreover, women are encouraged to sell their products, recipes, and other traditional items via the Him Ira’s online platform.
Preparations are also in motion to offer products from the Gauri Gram organization through Swiggy and Zomato.
Members of the SHGs expressed their delight as customers appreciate the offerings from the Him Ira canteen. They are grateful to the Block Development Office officials for facilitating online sales of these dishes.
Himanshi, the Block Development Officer in Hamirpur, mentioned that around 70 women have joined the initiative in its initial phase, providing them with a platform to market local products.
Both Swiggy and Zomato have been officially invited to be part of the doorstep delivery scheme for dishes created in the Him Ira canteen, with completion expected by next month.
