Amaravati, April 13 (NationPress) - A horrific hit-and-run incident in Andhra Pradesh's Sri Sathya Sai district on Sunday resulted in the deaths of three women.
The tragic accident took place when an unidentified vehicle collided with an auto-rickshaw on the Hindupur-Sire highway near Dhanapuram Cross in Parigi Mandal.
Following the collision, the vehicle fled the scene, causing the auto-rickshaw to veer off the road.
Sadly, three women lost their lives at the scene, while eight others sustained injuries in the incident. Those injured were promptly transported to a hospital in Hindupur.
The deceased have been identified as Alivelamma (45), Adi Lakshmamma (65), and Shakamma (60).
According to law enforcement, there were 14 individuals aboard the auto-rickshaw, who were returning from visiting the Kotipi Chawdeswari temple.
All victims were residents of Dodagatta in Roddam Mandal within the same district.
