Amaravati, May 23 (NationPress) A tragic incident occurred on Friday when six individuals lost their lives in a fatal head-on crash between a car and a truck in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, according to police reports.
The collision took place at Thaticherla Motu in Komarolu mandal around 1:40 p.m.
All six victims, who were traveling in an Innova car, died instantly, while two children sustained injuries. Among the deceased were two women.
The group originated from Stuartpuram in Bapata district, returning home after visiting the Mahanandi temple in Nandyal district.
CCTV footage captured the tragic event, showing the SUV speeding and crashing into the truck approaching from the opposite direction.
The car, which was en route to Bapatla, collided with the truck that was coming from the other side. The injured were promptly transported to a hospital in Giddalur.
Retrieving the bodies proved challenging for the police due to the severe damage to the car, which was wedged beneath the truck. A crane was necessary to extricate the vehicle and recover the bodies.
In light of this unfortunate event, Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar, Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad, and Social Welfare Minister Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy expressed their condolences, lamenting the loss of life among devotees returning from a religious site.
