Amaravati, Nov 3 (NationPress) In the early hours of Monday, a tragic series of events unfolded in Andhra Pradesh, resulting in the loss of five lives and injuries to two others across two separate road collisions.

In the Bapatla district, a deadly crash occurred around 1 a.m. when a car collided with a truck. The victims were identified as B. Balarama Raju (65), B. Lakshmi (60), G. Pushpavati (60), and M. Srinivasa Raju (54). Two boys, aged 11 and 13, were also injured in this incident and are currently hospitalized, but their condition is reported to be stable.

These individuals hailed from Karlapalem and were returning home after attending the sangeet ceremony of the son of local MLA Narendra Verma. Preliminary investigations suggest that overspeeding could have contributed to the crash, leading police to register a case and pursue further inquiries.

In a separate incident in Palnadu district, a man lost his life when a mini lorry overturned due to a tyre burst on the Nadendla-Timmapuram road. The victim, identified as Bapu Malik, was a worker from Odisha. It was revealed that the mini lorry was being repurposed to transport rice intended for the Public Distribution System.

Authorities have initiated investigations into both incidents, with the civil supplies department also looking into the diversion of PDS rice.

In a completely unrelated note, police in Annamayya district apprehended an individual who allegedly exhumed a youth's body for black magic rituals. The youth, who recently died from illness, was laid to rest in a local graveyard. Bystanders noticed the suspicious activity and alerted the authorities. The suspect, identified as Govind, claimed he sought to perform rituals in hopes of communicating with his deceased younger brother.
