Amaravati, March 22 (NationPress) Tragically, three individuals lost their lives and four others sustained injuries in a serious accident involving two vehicles in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, according to police reports from Sunday.

The collision took place on a national highway close to Yernagudem within the Deverapalli mandal.

Initial investigations revealed that a car traveling from Rajamahendravaram to Vijayawada lost control after hitting a road divider and subsequently crashed into an oncoming vehicle.

Unfortunately, three individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, while four others were taken to a hospital in Gopalapuram for treatment.

The deceased were sent to a government hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Authorities suspect that overspeeding may have been a contributing factor to the loss of control, leading to the collision. A formal case has been opened, and the investigation is ongoing.

In a separate incident, unrest flared near the Dornala-Srisailam Ghat Road in Kurnool district after a driver from the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) was allegedly abducted and attacked by a group of passengers from a Karnataka bus.

This confrontation occurred when an APSRTC bus failed to yield to a Karnataka bus. Following a brief chase, the Karnataka bus driver blocked the APSRTC bus.

Passengers from the Karnataka bus forcibly took the APSRTC driver with them and assaulted him, attributing their travel delays to him.

This incident left the passengers of the APSRTC bus stranded on the road.

Upon receiving reports, police intercepted the Karnataka bus near the Dornala check-post and successfully rescued the APSRTC driver.

The Dornala police apprehended the Karnataka bus driver and several passengers, initiating a formal investigation.

Additionally, a man lost his life and two others were injured when their car collided with a truck on the Outer Ring Road in Hyderabad. This accident occurred near Himayat Sagar, falling under the jurisdiction of the Rajendranagar Police Station.
