Hyderabad, April 19 (NationPress) Tragically, four individuals, including two infants, lost their lives in two distinct road mishaps in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.

In one incident, a woman and her four-month-old son were killed when their car collided with a lorry in Mahabubnagar district, Telangana. The accident took place at the Addakula mandal headquarters, where the car crashed into the truck parked by the roadside.

The deceased were identified as Nandini (26) and her baby, Kannayya. Her husband, Prakash Reddy, sustained severe injuries and was transported to the Area Hospital in Wanaparthy.

The family, hailing from Kanchiraopalli village in Wanaparthy district, was en route to the Yadagirigutta temple for 'darshan' when the tragedy struck.

Authorities suspect the car was traveling at excessive speed, leading to a devastating impact that resulted in the car being extensively damaged. Both Nandini and her son died instantly.

In a separate accident in Andhra Pradesh, a man and his four-month-old daughter also lost their lives, while his wife sustained serious injuries.

This incident occurred when their motorcycle was struck by a truck in Madanapalle, Annamayya district.

The injured woman was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Police have filed a report and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding both accidents.

Additionally, early on Sunday, 12 others were injured in a bus accident in Anakapalli district, Andhra Pradesh. A private travel bus, which was on its way from Chennai to Bhubaneswar in Odisha, lost control and overturned into a roadside drain on National Highway 16 at Nakkapalli.

At the time of the incident, the bus had 36 passengers onboard, with 12 suffering minor injuries. Local residents assisted in rescuing the trapped individuals and transported them to the government hospital in Nakkapalli.

The police suspect that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, leading to the accident. Most passengers were from Odisha.

Police have registered a case and are actively investigating the matter.
