Accompanied by traditional rituals and warm greetings for guests, he will welcome visitors at Royal Crescent Bungalows in Ahmedabad from 9 am to 10:30 am.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will also participate in public Diwali celebrations, which coincidentally marks the Home Minister’s birthday, adding a personal touch to the festivities.

Born in 1964, Shah is a significant strategist for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a close associate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, having played a crucial role in the party’s ascent on the national stage.

On his birthday, party workers and supporters across Gujarat and India will extend their wishes through various social service initiatives, including blood donation drives and cultural events.

In Gujarat, the Gujarati New Year, also referred to as Bestu Varas, is celebrated a day after Diwali, marking the commencement of the Vikram Samvat calendar, traditionally observed in the region.

This day symbolizes renewal, prosperity, and new beginnings.

During his visit, Shah is expected to inaugurate the newly built MLA quarters in Sector-17, Gandhinagar, on October 23.

Constructed at a cost of Rs 220 crore, the project replaces the previous legislators’ housing complex and consists of 216 air-conditioned 4BHK flats across 12 towers, each nine stories tall.

The initiative, which began in 2021, encompasses over 28,000 square metres.

Each unit features two master bedrooms, two additional rooms, a kitchen, dining area, waiting room, office space, and a separate staff room. The complex also includes landscaped gardens, a community hall, an auditorium, a health club, a canteen, and recreational areas for children and senior citizens.

Officials have stated that comprehensive security and administrative arrangements are in place for the event, coinciding with Bhai Bij, the last day of Diwali celebrations, which embodies renewal and brotherhood.
