New Delhi, Nov 25 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday honored the ninth Guru of Sikhism, ‘Hind Ki Chadar’, Guru Tegh Bahadur, on the occasion of his 350th Martyrdom Day, as per an official announcement.
In a post shared on X, HM Shah stated, "On the 350th martyrdom day of the ninth Guru of Sikhism, ‘Hind Ki Chadar’, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, I bow and express my reverence to him."
The Union Home Minister remarked, "Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji committed his life to profound spiritual endeavors, engaged in sacred discussions, and defended our culture and faith against oppressive invaders."
"He stood up for the Kashmiri Pandits, opposed the ruthless Mughals, and gave up everything for the sake of dharma. Remembering the noble sacrifice of Guru Sahib Ji—characterized by valor, restraint, altruism, and devotion—fills us with pride and a renewed determination for national security," HM Shah noted on X.
Earlier, HM Shah reaffirmed the government's commitment to combat the drug crisis and congratulated the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Delhi Police for a significant seizure of contraband valued at Rs 262 crore.
"Our government is dismantling drug cartels at an unmatched pace. By rigorously pursuing a comprehensive investigative approach, we achieved a breakthrough by confiscating 328 kg of methamphetamine worth Rs 262 crore in New Delhi and arresting two individuals," HM Shah said in a post on X.
"This operation exemplifies seamless multi-agency collaboration in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji's vision for a drug-free India. Kudos to the joint efforts of NCB and Delhi Police," he added.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (OPS Branch), in partnership with the Special Cell of Delhi Police, dismantled a transnational trafficking network, seizing approximately 328 kilograms of high-grade Methamphetamine from a residence in Chhatarpur, south Delhi, on November 20.
Initial investigations revealed that the cartel functioned through various couriers, safe houses, and multiple handlers, with Delhi serving as a critical distribution hub both domestically and internationally.
The raid was part of 'Operation Crystal Fortress'—a coordinated, intelligence-led initiative targeting high-volume synthetic drug networks.
“This decisive action is the result of extensive efforts over recent months based on intelligence and technical interceptions, uncovering a well-organized trafficking chain, ultimately leading to this significant breakthrough,” stated the NCB.
“Two individuals, including a woman from Nagaland, were detained with the assistance of Nagaland police, at whose residence this major seizure occurred. They have been arrested, and other accomplices have been identified, including a kingpin operating from abroad, who is also wanted in connection to last year's seizure of 82.5 kilograms of high-grade cocaine in Delhi by the NCB,” the statement added.
The NCB confirmed that efforts were ongoing, in collaboration with international enforcement partners, to ensure his extradition to India for legal proceedings.
