New Delhi, June 30 (NationPress) The Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, is set to preside over the Manthan Baithak of Cooperation Ministers from all States and Union Territories at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi this Monday.
This high-level assembly organized by the Ministry of Cooperation aims to assess progress and devise a future roadmap to bolster the cooperative sector throughout India.
Present at the meeting will be Cooperation Ministers, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Secretaries of Cooperation Departments from all States and Union Territories.
The main goal of the Manthan Baithak is to scrutinize the execution of vital initiatives, exchange best practices, and promote synergy in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’ (Prosperity through Cooperation).
A significant emphasis during the conference will be on the creation of two lakh new Multi-purpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), alongside cooperative societies in dairy and fisheries sectors. This initiative is aimed at improving last-mile service delivery in rural regions and empowering farmers, fishers, and local entrepreneurs.
The meeting will also appraise the advancement of the World’s Largest Grain Storage Scheme within the cooperative sector, anticipated to enhance agricultural infrastructure and food security across the nation.
Moreover, the discussion will cover the role of states in endorsing the three newly established National Multi-state Cooperative Societies, including National Cooperative Export Ltd (NCEL), National Cooperative Organics Ltd (NCOL), and Bharatiya Beej Sahkari Samiti Ltd (BBSSL).
According to a press release from the Ministry of Cooperation, “States will also showcase their progress under the 'Cooperation Among Cooperatives' campaign and the ongoing 'International Year of Cooperatives 2025', along with their aspirations for broader engagement.”
