New Delhi, March 13 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed their heartfelt greetings to the citizens in celebration of Holi.

On the eve of this vibrant festival, President Murmu shared her warm wishes, highlighting the essence of the occasion that embodies unity and brotherhood.

She stated, "This festival fosters the spirit of togetherness and fraternity in our lives. The myriad colors of Holi signify the principles of unity in diversity. It also represents the victory of good over evil, encouraging us to disseminate love and positivity in our surroundings."

Furthermore, she conveyed her best wishes to all Indians, both domestically and abroad, adding, "May this festival of colors bring joy and prosperity to your lives."

Prime Minister Modi also took to the social media platform X to share his greetings. He mentioned, "Warm wishes to everyone on Holi. May this festival bring renewed enthusiasm and vigor to all lives, while also enhancing the color of unity among our citizens."

Holi, celebrated with immense fervor both in India and internationally, is set to be observed on Friday. The festivities are preceded by the tradition of lighting bonfires, known as Holika Dahan, symbolizing the burning of the demoness Holika.

In a related event, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the Asha Kiran shelter home in Rohini on Thursday to celebrate Holi with the children. She emphasized that since these children lack parental support, the government would act as their guardian, ensuring they receive adequate care and facilities. Accompanied by Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Singh Indraj, CM Gupta distributed sweets and chocolates to the children.
