New Delhi, June 25 (NationPress) India expressed its sincere appreciation for Vietnam's solidarity and backing in the ongoing struggle against terrorism. Both nations unequivocally condemned terrorism in all its forms, including cross-border terrorism, during the 13th Political Consultation and the 10th Strategic Dialogue that took place in New Delhi.

The discussions were co-chaired by P. Kumaran, Secretary (East) at the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and Nguyen Manh Cuong, Deputy Foreign Minister of Vietnam.

During these consultations, both parties evaluated the progress made in the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which is guided by the 'Joint Vision for Peace, Prosperity and People' established by the Prime Ministers of both nations in December 2020, alongside the Plan of Action for 2024-2028, signed in August 2024 during the Vietnamese Prime Minister's state visit to India.

According to a statement released by the MEA, "The two sides deliberated on a wide range of bilateral relations, including political, defence, security, maritime, trade and investment, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, energy, science and technology, space, information technology, digital, fintech, connectivity, culture, tourism, and education sectors. Both parties expressed satisfaction regarding the ongoing development cooperation between India and Vietnam through heritage conservation and restoration projects, Quick Impact Projects, ITEC and e-ITEC initiatives, and scholarships."

In addition, both nations shared insights on regional and international matters of mutual concern during the strategic dialogue.

The Vietnamese delegation expressed gratitude to the Indian Government for hosting the first-ever exhibition of the Holy Relics of Lord Buddha in Vietnam in May 2025. This event, which highlighted the shared spiritual heritage of both nations, attracted over 14 million visitors paying respects to the Holy Relics. The Indian side reiterated Vietnam's significance as a key partner in India's Act East Policy, MAHASAGAR Vision, and the vision of the Indo-Pacific region," the statement noted.

During his visit to India, Vietnam’s Deputy Foreign Minister also met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Deputy National Security Advisor Pavan Kapoor, and Special Secretary of the Department of Commerce Rajesh Agrawal.

"I am glad to have met Deputy FM Nguyen Manh Cuong of Vietnam. I appreciate the positive momentum in our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership," EAM Jaishankar tweeted following the meeting.
