Patna, June 30 (NationPress) Krishna Allavaru, the Congress Bihar in-charge, stated on Monday that his party along with all constituents of the INDIA bloc is firmly against the Election Commission of India’s initiative to revise the voter list in the election-bound state.

Addressing reporters at the Patna airport, Allavaru asserted that the BJP is orchestrating this move.

“The BJP is utilizing covert methods to eliminate the names of minorities, the underprivileged, and individuals from backward castes from the voter rolls. They are now attempting to accomplish this through the Election Commission in Bihar. We vehemently oppose this action by the ECI. It’s a significant plot by the BJP to obstruct Dalit, poor, and minority voters from engaging in the electoral process ahead of the vital Bihar Assembly elections in 2025,” Allavaru indicated.

He further mentioned that the inaugural joint manifesto committee meeting of the INDIA bloc is scheduled to take place in Patna later today.

“The primary goal of this gathering is to devise a better Bihar for its residents. We will emphasize education, health, employment, and social justice in today’s discussions and formulate a roadmap centered on these matters for the benefit of the general populace of the state,” he stated.

Regarding the meeting's outcomes, Allavaru disclosed that the INDIA bloc intends to develop a joint manifesto prior to the Bihar Assembly elections.

“We will engage in thorough deliberations on these topics and address every facet of the challenges and concerns facing Bihar,” he affirmed.

Senior figures from the RJD, Congress, CPI(ML), CPI, CPI(M), and VIP are participating in the meeting, aiming to create a manifesto that resonates with voters.

Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, has already pledged several welfare initiatives for the residents of Bihar, including a monthly sum of Rs 2,500 to every woman under the ‘Mai Bahin Maan Yojana’, a Rs 1,500 monthly pension for senior citizens, widows, and individuals with disabilities under social security, 200 units of free electricity, and various other welfare programs previously announced, along with the commitment to generate 10 lakh jobs.
