New Delhi, Oct 3 (NationPress) In a significant meeting, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval engaged with Brazilian President's Special Advisor, Ambassador Celso Luis Nunes Amorim, in New Delhi for the 6th India-Brazil Strategic Dialogue. The discussions focused on the advancements in their Strategic Partnership, emphasizing collaboration in defence and security, energy, rare earths and critical minerals, and health and pharmaceuticals.
The leaders committed to fostering the vision established by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, while also exploring cooperation in multilateral platforms like BRICS, IBSA, and the upcoming COP30 summit in Brazil this November.
As per the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Amorim was joined by a team of senior Brazilian officials. The meeting served as a follow-up on the initiatives discussed during Prime Minister Modi's State Visit to Brazil in July 2025, focusing on five pillars of cooperation.
On September 7, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar conveyed his regards to Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira and the Brazilian populace on their Independence Day, affirming the strengthening of ties between the two nations.
In his message on X, Jaishankar stated, “Warm greetings to FM Mauro Vieira and the people of Brazil on their Independence Day. Our Strategic Partnership and multifaceted ties continue to strengthen for the benefit of our peoples.”
Earlier, on August 7, PM Modi received a call from President Lula da Silva. The two leaders reviewed their agreement on a comprehensive framework to enhance cooperation in vital sectors such as trade, technology, energy, defence, agriculture, health, and people-to-people connections.
“Building on these discussions, they reiterated their commitment to elevate the India-Brazil Strategic Partnership to new heights,” stated the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). They also exchanged views on various regional and global matters of mutual significance.
Following their conversation, PM Modi posted on X, “Had a productive conversation with President Lula. I thanked him for making my visit to Brazil memorable and meaningful. We are dedicated to enhancing our Strategic Partnership, including in trade, energy, technology, defence, health, and more. A robust, people-centric partnership among Global South nations benefits everyone.”
