New Delhi, Aug 9 (NationPress) In a notable affirmation of India's advancements, Brazil's Ambassador to India, Kenneth Felix Haczynski Da Nobrega, commended the governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, labeling the nation's progress over the past decade as remarkable in both the economic and social domains. He also reminisced about PM Modi's visit to Brazil during the BRICS Summit.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS, Ambassador Da Nobrega remarked, "It is not for Brazil to evaluate India; however, the progress witnessed over the past 10 years is undeniably extraordinary — with striking economic growth and social development. We refrain from making judgments, yet the advancement is clear."
Commenting on PM Modi's visit to Brazil during the BRICS Summit, the Ambassador referred to it as a historic landmark.
"This marked the first state visit in over two decades, if I recall correctly, and it had a significant impact. The media exposure in Brazil reflected the importance of the visit. A substantial joint statement was released, highlighting our common objectives," he added.
Focusing on enhancing strategic collaboration, Da Nobrega identified Defence as a crucial sector.
"Defence is certainly a field where we see opportunities for joint ventures aimed at strengthening our industrial capabilities. Furthermore, sectors such as energy — encompassing both fossil and renewable sources — agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and Digital Public Infrastructure (DPIs) present robust bilateral prospects," he noted.
The Ambassador further emphasized the swift progress in trade and business relationships, asserting that the India-Brazil partnership is becoming increasingly vital in today's geopolitical context.
"In just the past two years, 77 business delegations from Brazil have traveled to India, and over 40 Indian missions have visited Brazil. This illustrates the dynamic nature of our commercial and business connections. Based on mutual trade interests, our leaders have devised a strategy to enhance relations in Defence, energy, pharmaceuticals, DPIs, and agriculture. Thus, we have a comprehensive plan," he concluded.
