New Delhi, Nov 30 (NationPress) India has achieved a significant milestone on the international skills arena, concluding its inaugural participation at the WorldSkills Asia Competition (WSAC) 2025 held in Taiwan's Taipei, with a commendable 8th-place finish out of 29 nations, as stated in an official announcement on Sunday.

The Indian team demonstrated outstanding performances across both traditional and technology-driven skill domains.

India brought home one silver medal, two bronze medals, and three Medallions for Excellence, highlighting the nation’s rapidly growing presence in the realm of global skills excellence. The accolades were awarded in categories such as industrial design technology, robot system integration, software application development, web technologies, electrical installations, and painting & decorating, according to the statement.

Women participants stood out as exceptional performers, significantly contributing to the medal tally and showcasing the rising leadership of young women in India’s skilling ecosystem. They excelled in non-traditional skills and received the best in the country medal, achieving the highest scores among all Indian competitors.

Under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), with the NSDC and other technical partners facilitating training and preparation, the Indian delegation included 23 competitors competing in 21 skill categories. They were also supported by 21 experts.

Commenting on India’s accomplishments, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jayant Chaudhary, remarked: "India’s performance at WorldSkills Asia 2025 reflects the confidence, creativity, and discipline of our young talent. Every medal and every recognition earned here is a testament to the hard work of our competitors, the dedication of their trainers, and the growing strength of India’s skills ecosystem. These achievements are indicative of the robustness of India’s rigorous talent pipeline. Competitors were selected via the IndiaSkills National Competition 2024 and underwent months of intensive, industry-led training supported by premier academic institutions, Sector Skill Councils, and global experts—ensuring elite readiness for the WSAC 2025 platform.

India’s performance at WSAC 2025 sets a robust precedent for future international contests and reinforces the nation’s ambition to become a global hub for skilled talent. WorldSkills Asia 2025 convened hundreds of young competitors from across the continent, providing a platform to showcase excellence, innovation, and future-ready capabilities. The third edition of this prestigious continental competition featured participation from over 500 competitors across 44 skill categories, representing approximately 29 Asian member and guest countries. It offered participants invaluable opportunities to promote local education, economy, tourism, and international exchanges.
