The Prime Minister commended the recently initiated Operation Sindoor, noting that strikes were executed in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in the loss of 26 lives.
“We desire peace, but we never compromise on the safety of our borders,” the Prime Minister declared while addressing a state-level event commemorating the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru.
PM Modi remarked that the entire world has observed that the new India neither fears nor halts or bows before terrorism.
He added that present-day India is advancing with full vigor, courage, and clarity.
Reflecting on a recent milestone, the Prime Minister mentioned that when the three original forms of the Guru Granth Sahib arrived from Afghanistan, it marked “a moment of pride for every Indian.”
He noted that his government has consistently endeavored to fortify the spiritual and cultural links to Sikh heritage.
The Prime Minister reflected on how the ninth Sikh Guru initiated his journey from Anandpur Sahib, connecting various villages with the Sangat, enhancing their devotion while also transforming societal conduct.
He commented that the inhabitants of these villages renounced all forms of intoxicant cultivation and committed their futures at the feet of Guru Sahib.
PM Modi stressed that by following the path outlined by Guru Maharaj, if society, families, and youth unite to confront addiction, this issue can be eradicated at its roots.
The Prime Minister asserted that the teachings of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib should serve as the bedrock for peace in our actions, balance in our policies, and trust within our society, encapsulating the essence of the occasion.
He underscored that the manner in which the martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur is being commemorated nationwide reflects how the teachings of the Gurus remain vibrant in the collective consciousness of society.
The Prime Minister concluded by emphasizing that with this spirit, these celebrations should act as a profound inspiration for the youth to propel India forward and extended his greetings to all once again.
