Coimbatore, Nov 25 (NationPress) Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister M.K. Stalin declared on Tuesday that his administration has secured 2.5 times more investments compared to the preceding AIADMK government, reinforcing the state's status as one of India's top industrial hubs.

While addressing the third edition of the TN Rising Investors’ Conference 2025 at a private hotel on Avinashi Road in Coimbatore, the Chief Minister noted the significant role Coimbatore district plays in Tamil Nadu’s economy.

What was once primarily recognized as a manufacturing center, Coimbatore has transformed into a national and global hub for education, healthcare, tourism, IT, and innovation, he emphasized.

Stalin pointed out that the government has consistently launched special initiatives to enhance the district’s progress.

He recalled the investment meet on November 23, 2021, at the CODISSIA campus, where 52 MoUs were signed, leading to investments totaling Rs 34,723 crore and creating 74,835 jobs.

At the recent event, 158 new MoUs were inked for a total investment of Rs 43,844 crore, resulting in the creation of 1,00,709 jobs.

“These investments will bolster Coimbatore’s leadership in industrial excellence and foster widespread regional development,” Stalin stated, adding that investors have repeatedly expressed their trust in the district.

Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa and other senior officials were present at the conference.

In his speech, Stalin recognized Coimbatore as the birthplace of notable innovators like G.D. Naidu and Pollachi Mahalingam, emphasizing that he has visited the district over 15 times since taking office.

“We will persist in our efforts for the people of Coimbatore. The government has always stood resolutely with industry,” he asserted.

Highlighting recent successes, Stalin mentioned that MoUs worth Rs 32,000 crore were signed at the Thoothukudi investment meet, while the Hosur conference secured commitments totaling Rs 24,000 crore.

“For the past 25 years, the DMK has operated with a clear vision. We cannot dissociate the DMK’s governance from Tamil Nadu’s advancement,” he remarked, recalling the introduction of the State’s first IT policy in 1997 by a DMK government.

Stalin also noted that Tamil Nadu now boasts over 79,000 registered companies, an increase from 62,413 when the DMK assumed leadership in 2021. According to PF data from the Union government, 29.69 lakh individuals have gained employment in just four and a half years.

The state has also seen the establishment of 12,663 startups during this timeframe and plans to soon create semiconductor parks in Coimbatore, Sulur, and Palladam.

“Some individuals cannot accept Tamil Nadu’s progress. They propagate misleading narratives, yet our outcomes speak volumes. Nearly 80 percent of signed MoUs have already been put into action,” Stalin remarked, adding that his international trips to Japan, the U.S., Germany, and the U.K. aim to ensure balanced and sustainable development throughout the State.
