Bhopal, Jan 22 (NationPress) Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Thursday, Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted that India is rapidly advancing in all domains and is on track to elevate its economic status from the fourth to the third-largest economy globally within the next one to one and a half years.
The Chief Minister noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has dispatched its largest delegation to this year’s World Economic Forum in Davos.
He emphasized that a series of strategic meetings and conversations took place with prominent industrialists and business leaders from different sectors.
During this transformative phase, Madhya Pradesh is positioned to offer significant growth potential in areas such as solar energy, information technology, and tourism, with government initiatives showing positive results.
Yadav remarked that Madhya Pradesh has strong capabilities in agriculture and poultry, with plans to enhance trade in these sectors with other states in the near future. The state boasts a substantial land bank, abundant power availability, and a strategically central location that facilitates efficient transportation.
He pointed out that as a result of continuous government efforts over the past two years, Madhya Pradesh's unemployment rate has fallen to about 1 percent. He highlighted the success of initiatives aimed at connecting youth with both employment and self-employment prospects.
On Thursday, the Chief Minister also engaged in discussions with Maldives Minister and economist Mohamed Saeed, covering various topics.
During their meeting, Minister Saeed underscored potential collaborations in sectors including fisheries, IT, healthcare, and tourism.
Yadav expressed that both PM Modi and the President of the Maldives have made several progressive decisions in the past, and the Madhya Pradesh government is fully equipped to advance in partnership with the Maldives.
