Ahmedabad, Dec 28 (NationPress) Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani emphasized on Sunday that India is entering a pivotal era where technology, talent, and national purpose must converge. He encouraged the youth to step forward and take charge in the domain of artificial intelligence.
"India's lasting strength is in its capacity to unify individuals, institutions, and long-term goals. This same clarity must now direct how young Indians engage with AI—not merely as passive consumers, but as innovators and leaders of capability," Gautam Adani stated during the launch of Vidya Pratishthan’s Sharad Pawar Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CoE-AI) located in Baramati, Maharashtra.
Recognizing the apprehensions surrounding AI, he reminded attendees that history provides comfort.
"Every significant technological evolution, from the industrial revolutions to India’s own digital shift, has enhanced human potential," remarked the Adani Group Chairman.
"AI will elevate this further by empowering ordinary citizens with intelligence and productivity, thus enabling youth from diverse backgrounds to engage in growth," he further added.
Gautam Adani cautioned against outsourcing leadership in AI. "In a landscape where intelligence increasingly determines economic strength and national influence, reliance on foreign algorithms poses risks," he noted.
"Data, decision-making, and capability must be rooted in national interests. Establishing indigenous AI models, robust computing power, and resilient intelligence ecosystems is vital for India’s economic security, cultural confidence, and strategic autonomy," the billionaire industrialist asserted.
Contextualizing this vision, Gautam Adani highlighted the expanding role of the Adani Group within the global AI arena.
The diversified conglomerate is making substantial investments in data centers, digital infrastructure, and clean energy to support large-scale computing, fostering collaboration with global tech giants such as Google and Microsoft as India evolves into a significant player in AI-driven growth.
The center of excellence has been inaugurated under the Baramati-based educational trust Vidya Pratishthan, backed by a Rs 25 crore donation from Gautam Adani in 2023.
This initiative aims to foster advanced research, skill enhancement, and industry-relevant training in emerging technologies.
Those involved in the project indicate that it will target AI applications across sectors including agriculture, healthcare, governance, and industry, with a strong focus on collaboration between academia and the private sector.
