Mumbai, July 17 (NationPress) A full emergency was declared at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on Wednesday night after a technical issue emerged mid-air in an IndiGo flight traveling from Delhi to Goa.
The flight, 6E 6271, which was utilizing an Airbus A320neo aircraft, was initially set to arrive at Manohar International Airport in Goa. However, due to precautionary measures, it was rerouted to Mumbai, as confirmed in an official statement from CSMIA.
"Following the diversion of a Delhi-Goa flight due to a technical snag, a full emergency status was announced at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai (CSMIA) at 21:35 hours on July 16, 2025. The flight landed safely at 21:52 hours. The emergency status was lifted at 21:57 hours," stated CSMIA.
All passengers were safely deboarded and supported by terminal personnel. Airport authorities reported that there was no disruption to overall operations and emphasized that passenger safety remains their highest priority.
"There has been no impact on overall airport operations. At CSMIA, safety consistently remains our utmost priority," the airport added.
"An alternative aircraft has been arranged for completing the journey, which will depart shortly with the customers. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers due to this unexpected situation. At IndiGo, the safety and security of our customers, crew, and aircraft are paramount," remarked a spokesperson.
