Patna, March 10 (NationPress) The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has officially introduced the Bharat Gaurav Train as part of its efforts to elevate rail tourism on Monday.

This initiative will provide a remarkable 33 percent discount on travel expenses for passengers.

The journey is set to commence on March 27, 2025, departing from Bettiah Station, which is part of the Samastipur Railway Division.

The key boarding points for this train include Sugauli, Raxaul, Bairginia, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Pataliputra, Ara, Buxar, and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction.

This budget-friendly train aims to transport pilgrims to significant religious sites at an economical price. The goal is to offer a high-quality experience for devotees while enhancing rail tourism under the ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ initiative. Railway officials have meticulously planned the routes and services to cater to the needs of the pilgrims.

“This is an excellent opportunity for travelers to delve into India’s rich spiritual heritage. It offers a divine journey at a budget-friendly price,” remarked Rajesh Kumar, Joint General Manager of IRCTC.

The Bharat Gaurav Train, part of IRCTC’s ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ scheme, will take passengers on a spiritual pilgrimage to prominent religious sites in South India.

According to the itinerary, pilgrims will visit Tirupati for Shri Balaji Darshan, Rameswaram for Shri Ramanathaswamy Temple, Madurai for Meenakshi Amman Temple, Kanyakumari to see Kanyakumari Temple and Vivekananda Rock, and Srisailam for Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga.

The expedition will begin on March 27, 2025, concluding on April 7, 2025, at Samastipur Railway Station. The pricing structure is set at Rs 22,520 per person for economy class (Sleeper) and Rs 38,310 per person for Comfort Class (3 AC).

Passengers will enjoy accommodations in both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned hotels based on their preferences, with vegetarian meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and morning and evening tea, along with bottled water. They will also have access to AC and non-AC buses for sightseeing.

“The Bharat Gaurav Train will provide pilgrims with an affordable and pleasant experience while adding a new dimension to rail tourism,” Kumar stated.

“Security personnel, cleaning staff, and tour guides will ensure a unique and comfortable journey for all passengers,” he added.
