New Delhi, Jan 20 (NationPress) The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Center (IN-SPACe) presented a collection of 43 state-of-the-art technologies tailored for the mobility sector at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in Yashobhoomi, Dwarka.
A booth established by ISRO showcased advanced space technologies such as camera and imaging sensors, temperature and pressure sensors, gyroscopes, accelerometers, noise suppression systems, specialized coatings, and insulation technologies.
By leveraging these innovations, the initiative aspires to diminish the automotive industry’s dependence on imported technologies, promoting self-reliance and innovation in line with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Dr. Rajeev Jyoti, Director-Technical Directorate at IN-SPACe, stated, "IN-SPACe will collaborate closely with the automotive sector to facilitate the adoption of technologies developed by ISRO into automotive manufacturing processes.”
“Engaging with the automotive industry, the goal is to showcase the potential of ISRO’s technologies, which can be customized and further developed locally to suit the specific needs of the automotive sector. A primary objective is to bolster self-reliance in India by fostering the domestic development and manufacturing of advanced components like sensors,” Jyoti further explained.
The agency underscored the significance of translating India’s space accomplishments into wider industrial applications, urging the automotive sector to embrace space-grade technologies to improve safety, performance, and sustainability.
There was also a focus on maintaining this momentum through collaborative pilot projects that bridge the divide between research and industry application.
During the expo, IN-SPACe and the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) conducted a dedicated session titled “ISRO Technologies for the Automotive Sector.”
Experts from various ISRO centers, including the Space Applications Centre in Ahmedabad, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Thiruvananthapuram, ISRO Inertial Systems Unit (IISU) in Trivandrum, and the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre in Thiruvananthapuram, shared insights on how these technologies can be tailored for automotive applications. These discussions aim to initiate strategic dialogues and pilot projects within the industry for practical implementation.
The 2025 edition of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo officially opened its doors to the public on January 19. The event is being held across three venues: Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, and India Expo Mart in Greater Noida.
