Patna, Aug 19 (NationPress) In a pointed rebuttal to Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal on Tuesday criticized the Congress MP for his lack of trust in the Supreme Court and other constitutional institutions. Jaiswal asserted that this absence of faith is one of the primary reasons for the public's rejection of Gandhi and his party.
This statement follows Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar's demand for Gandhi to submit an affidavit within a week regarding his claims of voter roll manipulation in Karnataka.
While addressing a rally in Bihar’s Gaya district on Monday during his ongoing 'Voter Adhikar Yatra', Gandhi remarked, “A day will come when the INDIA Bloc will establish governments in Bihar and at the Centre. Then strict action will be enforced. Election Commissioner, you better comprehend — if you fail to execute your responsibilities effectively, consequences will follow.”
In response, Dilip Jaiswal told IANS, “Rahul Gandhi demonstrates a lack of belief in the Supreme Court. When issues are under the court’s consideration, he resorts to public demonstrations, creating confusion and casting doubt on the very institutions that uphold our democracy.”
“If you lack trust in the Supreme Court — the highest constitutional authority — how can the public place their confidence in you? This is precisely why the populace has turned against him,” he added.
Regarding the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra', Jaiswal downplayed its significance in the upcoming Assembly elections in Bihar.
“Aside from a handful of Congress leaders, there is little interest in this yatra. The people have already dismissed it. If the Supreme Court is overseeing the matter, what greater spectacle could there be than ongoing protests in the streets?” he stated.
He also addressed Congress MP Shashi Tharoor's recent commendation of the government concerning 'Operation Sindoor' and Shubhanshu Shukla.
He asserted, “I have consistently maintained that politics is not a commercial venture. The leaders of the INDIA Bloc are attempting to divide the nation, and the people are aware of their intentions. They are striving to transfer power to foreign entities. The public is cognizant of this, and they will not permit it.”
When questioned about Gandhi’s recent temple visits, Jaiswal quipped, “Whenever Rahul Gandhi senses the thrill of power slipping away, he turns to temple visits.”
