Ranchi, Jan 26 (NationPress) On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar raised the Tricolour at the city's Morabadi ground, where a spectacular parade and tableaux highlighting government schemes were presented.
In his speech, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar underlined India's position as the largest democracy in the world and pointed out the essential role of the Constitution in attaining this status.
"It is our responsibility to aid in the creation of an inclusive nation. The effectiveness of democracy is rooted in sound governance and a responsible administration that meets its obligations to the citizens," he stated.
Referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of evolving India into a fully developed nation by 2047, the Governor highlighted the need to engage youth in this endeavor. He called upon elected officials in Jharkhand to fulfill their duties in accordance with the Constitution.
The Governor detailed the state government's pledge to transparency, compassion, and corruption-free governance, noting welfare schemes aimed at boosting Jharkhand’s development. He remarked that nation-building is a continuous process akin to a family's pursuit of a brighter future for the upcoming generation.
He commented on India's transformation from colonial-era poverty to significant achievements over the past 77 years, expressing hope for the nation's future.
Recognizing agriculture as the backbone of the state's economy, Governor Gangwar acknowledged the efforts of both the central and state governments to support farmers.
He mentioned initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and the Kisan Credit Card Yojana at the national level, along with Jharkhand's Agriculture Loan Waiver Scheme, which has forgiven Rs 403 crore in loans for 1.82 lakh farmers this fiscal year.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren unfurled the tricolour at the Dumka Police Line ground, honoring the sacrifices of the nation's martyrs. Soren praised their roles in establishing a robust democratic nation.
The Chief Minister stressed initiatives aimed at uplifting marginalized groups, including farmers, laborers, Dalits, and minorities. He also prioritized women's empowerment, highlighting the success of the Maiya Samman Yojana, which has aided around 56 lakh women in overcoming debt and achieving financial autonomy.
Soren further elaborated on the government's commitment to filling about 48,000 government positions. He announced that over 28,000 posts are in the final stages of appointment, with results for 342 civil service positions expected soon from the Jharkhand Public Service Commission.
Moreover, the Chief Minister mentioned the Mukhyamantri Sarathi Yojana, a skill development initiative that has trained approximately 4.84 lakh youth, with 2.14 lakh securing job placements.
