New Delhi, Aug 30 (NationPress) The Union Minister and BJP National President, JP Nadda, is scheduled to travel to Maharashtra on Saturday to engage in the vibrant Ganeshotsav celebrations. While in Pune, he will pay his respects and conduct pooja at various esteemed Lord Ganesh idols set up by distinguished public Ganesh Mandals.
According to the official schedule, JP Nadda will tour four significant Ganpati Mandals in Pune on Saturday. These include: The Shri Sai Mitra Mandal, Kothrud, Sane Guruji Tarun Mandal, Sadashiv Peth, Shri Kasba Ganpati Mandal, Kasba Peth, and Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust, Belbagh.
These mandals are some of the most celebrated and esteemed in Pune, attracting millions of devotees annually during the Ganesh festival. The visit is anticipated to draw attention from party members, local leaders, and the community, highlighting the BJP's cultural engagement during significant Hindu festivals.
Ganesh Chaturthi festivities are being celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout Maharashtra. For the first time, the Maharashtra government has officially recognized Ganeshotsav as a state festival.
In July, the Maharashtra government designated the public Ganesh Chaturthi festival as the 'Maharashtra State Festival'.
The state’s cultural department has organized various cultural events, competitions, and awareness programs for the next ten days. Public Mandals have also been encouraged to promote heritage awareness about Shivaji Maharaj’s 12 UNESCO-recognized forts, 'Operation Sindoor', and the spirit of swadeshi, merging tradition with state pride.
On another note, on Friday, Nadda came under scrutiny for his firm denunciation of derogatory slogans and comments allegedly directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother during the Congress-RJD 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Darbhanga, Bihar.
In a pointed video statement shared on social media platform X on Friday, Nadda remarked, “The so-called Vote Rights Journey of the Congress, during which the late mother of our distinguished Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji was insulted from the Congress-RJD platform, is utterly condemnable and disgraceful.”
