Hyderabad, Oct 12 (NationPress) K.T. Rama Rao, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), stated on Sunday that the forthcoming Jubilee Hills by-election will represent a pivotal judgment on the Congress party's 'arrogance, corruption, and deceit'.
He emphasized that the residents of Jubilee Hills are now faced with a momentous decision — between the car (the BRS election symbol) that signifies construction and the bulldozer that symbolizes destruction.
“The voters in Jubilee Hills must choose — do they prefer the car that embodies progress, or the bulldozer that razes the homes of the underprivileged?” he questioned, making reference to the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA).
During a gathering at Telangana Bhavan, KTR welcomed Cherka Mahesh, a senior BJP figure from the Shaikpet division in the Jubilee Hills constituency, into the BRS.
He criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for transforming the government into a representation of greed and devastation, asserting that Congress has not delivered on even one commitment made during their election campaign. “For two years, the Congress government has failed to construct a single house or lay a single brick. Meanwhile, it has borrowed Rs 2.3 lakh crore and is utilizing misappropriated funds to buy votes in Jubilee Hills,” he claimed.
KTR accused the Congress of offering Rs 10,000 per vote, funded by corrupt practices, and cautioned that the community is disillusioned by the breach of promises concerning pensions, housing, and fee reimbursements. “If Congress loses in Jubilee Hills, it will have to face the consequences. Only then will the promised pensions of Rs 4,000 and other welfare initiatives truly reach the people,” KTR articulated.
He also criticized the BJP, labeling it as “a party of no significance in Telangana,” and warned voters that “casting a vote for Congress or BJP is akin to discarding your vote into a drain.”
Regarding the issue of Backward Class reservations, KTR charged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy with deliberately misleading the public. “He was aware that reservation laws must be enacted in Parliament, not the Assembly. Yet, he staged a farce merely to deceive the populace,” he stated.
KTR further claimed that the Chief Minister had misled former cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin regarding an MLC promise and betrayed Muslims concerning burial grounds. “Deceit has become Revanth Reddy’s hallmark. He once acknowledged that people trust those who deceive them. That’s the essence of his political strategy,” KTR remarked.
The BRS leader called upon the citizens to make Jubilee Hills the launching pad for Hyderabad’s rejuvenation. “This by-election transcends a single seat — it’s about the future of Telangana,” he concluded.
