Key Takeaways
Kanpur, April 8 (NationPress) - The President of the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav, took a jab at the BJP-led administration in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, stating that "Kanpur has been transformed into Badnaampur" during their governance.
Akhilesh Yadav made a visit to the city to honor his security guard and connect with the family members of the deceased.
While addressing journalists, he criticized the BJP for its inability to fulfill promises regarding river clean-up initiatives.
He remarked, "The condition of the drains in Kanpur mirrors the state of the BJP. Two rivers in this city have been polluted under their watch," he said.
The SP leader also alleged the existence of a kidney trafficking operation in the area.
"Can anyone fathom such large-scale scams in healthcare? People’s kidneys are being removed without their consent," he claimed.
"Desperate individuals are being offered money in exchange for their kidneys," he added.
In a humorous tone, he suggested, "A new OTT series could revolve around characters like kaleen bhai, koreen bhai, and kidney bhai."
"The BJP has turned Kanpur into 'Badnaampur' through deceit," he asserted.
Commenting on the rise in crime and accidents, Akhilesh Yadav noted, "The city’s identity has sadly shifted; now, when people mention Kanpur, they think of overturned vehicles (accidents). A mother and daughter were tragically burned alive... that memory lingers too."
He also criticized the soaring electricity bills in the state, labeling the smart meters as "victim meters".
Looking ahead to the forthcoming Assembly elections, he accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of colluding with the BJP.
"I noticed the Election Commission's recent post on X, claiming there would be no booth capturing in West Bengal and that elections would be free from inducements, disruptions, violence, and threats. If the Election Commission doesn’t intervene, elections can be conducted without inducements," he stated.
He urged the citizens of West Bengal to support Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress. "Every vote is crucial for protecting democracy," he emphasized.
Regarding the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav mentioned: "We have initiated PDA Prahari. Witness the power of PDA Prahari—we apprehended an individual who was being utilized by the BJP to manipulate votes."
Additionally, he accused Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of assuming the role of an engineer, overseeing road designs in the state.
Yadav expressed optimism about his party's success in the upcoming Assembly elections next year. "In the near future, the people of Uttar Pradesh will oust the BJP from power. The Samajwadi Party will achieve a historic victory," he declared.
