Yadgir, April 23 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP declared on Wednesday that the neighboring Pakistan must face consequences for the Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in the loss of numerous tourists and local civilians' lives.

“We stand united as Hindus, transcending caste differences. Pakistan must be held accountable for these heinous killings. We trust that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take decisive action against the terrorists,” remarked Karnataka BJP chief B.Y. Vijayendra during a public meeting as part of the ‘Janakrosh Yatra’.

He further emphasized that the BJP government had abrogated Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, which had “humiliated” Hindu Pandits and contributed to the loss of soldiers in the region.

“PM Modi returned promptly from Saudi Arabia upon learning of the Pahalgam attack. As soon as he was informed about the massacre of Hindus, Union Minister Amit Shah dispatched officials to take charge,” he stated.

Vijayendra also announced the cancellation of the ‘Janakrosh Yatra’ planned for Thursday (April 24) in Ballari and Vijayanagara districts, opting to attend the funeral of Bharath Bhushan from Mattikere, Bengaluru, who lost his life in a terrorist attack in Kashmir.

On Tuesday, at least 26 tourists and local civilians tragically lost their lives when gunmen opened fire on innocent individuals in Baisaran, located in Jammu and Kashmir.

Criticizing the Karnataka government, Vijayendra alleged that the impoverished populace has been suffering since the Congress government under Siddaramaiah took office.

He remarked that Siddaramaiah had announced five guarantees, but the one not publicized is the sixth guarantee — the guarantee of price hikes.

Due to the price increases on over 50 essential commodities, daily survival has become a significant challenge for common people, farmers, and the underprivileged.

Vijayendra condemned the Siddaramaiah government for raising petrol prices and stamp duty. He drew a comparison to the previous BJP administration, stating that under B.S. Yediyurappa, farmers paid only Rs 25,000 for electricity connections, whereas now, under the Congress government, they face charges between Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh — a burdensome cost for farmers and the poor.

He also claimed that under the PM Kisan Samman scheme, the Central government provides Rs 6,000, while the Yediyurappa-led state government previously contributed an additional Rs 4,000, which has now been terminated.

“Now, rural residents must pay three to four times more for even basic blood tests,” he added.

Additionally, he highlighted price hikes of Rs 9 in milk, Rs 3 in petrol, and Rs 5.50 in diesel.

He accused the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government of instigating divisions among various communities and castes.

Although the government has been in power for nearly two years, he claimed no significant development work has been undertaken, nor has any budget been allocated.

He recalled that during the BJP regime, Yediyurappa declared Yadgir as a district and sanctioned hundreds of crores for development projects.

The gathering was attended by Legislative Council Opposition Leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, former minister B. Sriramulu, Council Chief Whip N. Ravikumar, state office-bearers, district leaders, mandal presidents, and other party members.
