Mandya (Karnataka), Nov 28 (NationPress) The son of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, who serves as a Congress MLC, has played down the ongoing leadership conflict between his father and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. He emphasized that there is no discussion regarding a change in the Chief Minister's position.

This assertion is particularly noteworthy following comments from AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, who indicated that both CM Siddaramaiah and Dy CM Shivakumar would be summoned to Delhi to address their differences.

Speaking with reporters in Mandya amidst swirling rumors about a potential shift in Karnataka's chief ministership, Yathindra dismissed allegations of internal strife, clarifying that conversations about leadership alterations are largely media-driven and not reflective of party dynamics.

“There is no war, no conflict. These discussions are purely media speculation. Within our party, there is no uncertainty,” he stated.

He asserted that the Congress high command has not issued any directives regarding leadership changes.

“They communicate with us regularly. Everyone remains committed to the decisions made by the high command. They will facilitate discussions between the two leaders when necessary. Until then, we should avoid any confusion,” he added.

On comments from certain individuals advocating for Dy CM D.K. Shivakumar to assume the Chief Minister's role, Yathindra acknowledged that people are entitled to their opinions but reiterated that only the high command has the jurisdiction to make such decisions.

“No one outside the party should have the prerogative to comment on this matter. The decision regarding the chief minister rests solely with our high command,” Yathindra emphasized.

Regarding the rumored meeting in Delhi involving D.K. Shivakumar and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Yathindra mentioned he had no updates. “I am unaware. I haven’t had a conversation with him. I don’t know what was discussed,” he noted.

He further downplayed concerns about various aspirants for the top position, stating, “There are always multiple individuals vying for the chief ministership in any party. This was also the case when the BJP was in power. It’s not a significant issue.”

Yathindra confirmed that both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar are dedicated to adhering to the high command's verdict. “The confusion will be resolved promptly. The high command will clarify this situation soon,” he stated.

He also remarked that conversations regarding a leadership transition after two years of governance are unnecessary. He urged the media not to fabricate narratives about MLAs aligning with different factions within the party. “This is an internal matter, and the media should refrain from dictating allegiances,” he concluded.
