Belagavi (Karnataka), Dec 8 (NationPress) - In response to inquiries regarding the leadership dynamics within the Congress party, MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah, the son of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, firmly stated that those who are speculating about a shift in the CM's position are merely “dreaming”.

He emphasized that the Congress high command has made it abundantly clear that there will be no alterations in leadership within the state.

Addressing the media in Belagavi on Monday prior to the session, Yathindra remarked, “Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has expressed his ambition for the CM's role. However, the high command has reiterated that now is not the right moment for such changes, clarifying that the current Chief Minister will remain in office.”

He further noted, “This discussion should conclude here. There is no ongoing tussle. Opponents are simply spreading unfounded rumors and misconceptions.”

When questioned about the rumors suggesting that CM Siddaramaiah might be asked to step down post the Belagavi session, Yathindra responded, “Such claims have been made for years. They continuously predict the CM will be replaced this year or the next. These are just dreams.”

Regarding whether CM Siddaramaiah will fulfill his five-year term, Yathindra stated, “I am confident he will serve his full term. There is no discourse on leadership change in Delhi, and the high command has not summoned CM Siddaramaiah. Thus, there is no crisis regarding leadership in our state.”

Senior Congress leader and MLC B.K. Hariprasad also confirmed to the press that there are no factions within the Karnataka Congress. “The Congress party is united; the only faction exists under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi.”

Defending Minister Satish Jarkiholi for his initiatives to unite backward classes, Hariprasad stated, “He advocates for the marginalized, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Groupism is more pronounced within the BJP. A faction of BJP leaders has gone to Delhi to voice complaints against the state President and MLA, B.Y. Vijayendra, and Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka. Minister Satish Jarkiholi maintains a close relationship with CM Siddaramaiah.

Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao added, “Groupism and internal conflicts are far more significant within the BJP. Certain groups are actively working to undermine Leader of Opposition R. Ashoka and state president B.Y. Vijayendra. The BJP should address its own issues before critiquing Congress's internal affairs.”
