Bengaluru, Oct 22 (NationPress) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son and MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah stated on Wednesday that there will be no changes in the leadership of the state.
“Our high command has clearly stated that there will not be a shift in leadership in Karnataka. Each time elections approach, the BJP hints at potential changes in leadership. However, we are aware of the dynamics within our party,” Yathindra remarked.
Previously, Yathindra suggested that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is nearing the end of his political journey, hinting that Satish Jarkiholi, the Minister for PWD, might step into his father's shoes.
“There is no dialogue about leadership change in the state. Our high command has consistently made this clear,” Yathindra emphasized.
He pointed out that all discussions regarding leadership transitions are mere speculation, noting that Congress General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala has also confirmed that the state leadership will remain unchanged.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar urged party workers to stay committed to the party, stating that the leadership has not permitted any factionalism or political maneuvering.
“If I wanted to engage in factionalism, I could have done so. But such politics lacks enjoyment,” he stated.
Yathindra's comments have sparked discussions in the political arena of the state, especially since Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has affirmed his intent to serve out his full term and lead the party in the upcoming assembly elections.
Nonetheless, some MLAs and supporters within Congress believe that Shivakumar should be positioned as Chief Minister due to his significant contributions to the party.
