Mantralayam, Oct 22 (NationPress) Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister and Congress state president D.K. Shivakumar stated on Wednesday that his party will operate collaboratively in line with the directives from the high command leadership.
“Whatever decisions the party makes, we will act in unison. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has echoed this sentiment, and I remain devoted to the Chief Minister’s assurances,” remarked the Deputy Chief Minister.
Regarding comments made by Siddaramaiah’s son, Congress MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah, about leadership transitions in the state, Shivakumar stated, “I am unaware of Yathindra's comments on this matter.”
“The party has provided me with everything. As the party president and Deputy Chief Minister, I have undertaken significant responsibilities. The party has granted me all that it can,” he further expressed.
Previously, Yathindra Siddaramaiah indicated that his father is nearing the end of his political journey, suggesting that Minister for PWD Satish Jarkiholi will lead those who embrace scientific and progressive ideas.
This statement sparked discussions across the state; however, Yathindra later reassured that there would be no leadership change.
“Our high command has firmly stated that there will be no shifts in leadership in Karnataka. As elections draw near, the BJP often claims that a leadership change is imminent. But we understand the true dynamics within our party,” Yathindra asserted.
“The topic of leadership change is not up for discussion in the state. Our high command has reiterated this consistently,” he emphasized.
Shivakumar also asserted that no individual surpasses the party. “Party members must remain loyal to the party. We have not entertained any factions or divisive politics. If I had wanted to create factions, I could have done so. However, that would serve no purpose,” he concluded.
