While addressing the “Jai Hind Sabha”, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah remarked that soldiers, farmers, doctors, and teachers are as esteemed and unforgettable as one's own parents.
He praised the enduring legacy of Indian soldiers, stating, “Soldiers commit themselves to national defense with a spirit of sacrifice. The duty to safeguard the country lies not solely with the army but with all 1.4 billion Indians.”
Siddaramaiah emphasized that India has always upheld the principle of defending the virtuous and eradicating evil, and will continue to do so.
“This is the pledge of every Indian,” he affirmed.
The Chief Minister announced a significant policy change, stating that no excise duty will be imposed on army canteens by the state. He also promised that all necessary measures would be taken for the welfare of retired soldiers.
Following the recognition of senior army officers, ex-servicemen, and the families of fallen soldiers, Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar stated, “To support all ex-servicemen in the state, the government is contemplating the formation of a separate corporation. This proposal will be evaluated in the upcoming state cabinet meeting.”
“We are considering establishing this corporation in response to suggestions from Mallikarjun, the President of the Congress Party’s Sainik Cell. We are dedicated to the welfare of soldiers who have served our nation,” Shivakumar mentioned.
“It is a matter of great pride to participate in such an important event. On behalf of the Congress party and the nation, I express my gratitude to all of you who have served our country with honor and commitment. The Congress party has consistently stood by the nation and our armed forces. This event exemplifies that your sacrifices will forever be remembered,” he concluded.
