As noted in an official announcement, the portals of Shri Badrinath Dham will open on May 4.
"This evening, the advance team of the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee arrived at Shri Kedarnath Dham. The doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham are going to open on May 2," stated the spokesperson.
On April 10, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized the state government's commitment to ensuring the safety of Char Dham Yatra pilgrims, a pilgrimage that plays a crucial role in the state's economy.
"Preparations for the Char Dham Yatra are in progress. I chaired a meeting to evaluate the preparations for the Yatra. We are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of our pilgrims. The Char Dham Yatra is essential for our state's economy," CM Dhami remarked.
In addition, the doors of Shri Madmaheshwar Temple (the second Kedar) will open on May 21, while the third Kedar, Shri Tungnath Temple, will also reopen on May 2.
Previously, BKTC Chief Executive Officer Vijay Prasad Thapliyal participated in a meeting on Monday to finalize the date for the reopening of Shri Madmaheshwar Temple at Shri Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath.
He was welcomed by Kedar Sabha and received praise for collaborating effectively with the Tirthpurohits.
On Tuesday, BKTCC Chief Executive Officer Vijay Prasad Thapliyal conducted an inspection of several temple committee sites, including Maa Barahi Temple, Sansari, Masta Narayan Koti, Shri Triyuginarayan Temple, Gauramaata Temple, Gaurikund, Temple Committee Rest House at Son Prayag, and Sanskrit College at Shonitpur (Guptkashi).
The Char Dham Yatra — one of the most important Hindu pilgrimages — encompasses visits to four revered Himalayan shrines: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
In Hindi, 'char' means four and 'dham' refers to sacred destinations.
It is believed that the Char Dham Yatra should be completed in a clockwise order.
Thus, the pilgrimage begins at Yamunotri, followed by Gangotri, then Kedarnath, and finally concludes at Badrinath.
The journey can be undertaken by road or air, with helicopter services also available. Some devotees opt for a Do Dham Yatra, visiting two shrines: Kedarnath and Badrinath.
