New Delhi, June 25 (NationPress) AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal expressed his heartfelt congratulations on Wednesday to the recently elected members of the legislative assembly from the Gujarat and Punjab bypolls, thanking the citizens of both states for their substantial support towards the party's candidates.
AAP candidates Gopal Italia and Sanjeev Arora achieved remarkable victories in the Visavadar seat (Gujarat) and Ludhiana West (Punjab), securing approximately 17,000 and 10,000 votes respectively during the recently held bypolls, which spanned across five seats in four states.
Arvind Kejriwal convened with the newly elected MLAs and local party units in the national capital, commending their dedication and efforts that led to AAP's success in both regions.
During his address to party workers, the AAP leader proclaimed that the bypoll outcomes are a reflection of the populace's steadfast belief in the party’s principles and commitment to integrity, asserting that it mirrors the general sentiment among the public.
“Citizens seek representatives with unblemished records. Both of our MLAs exemplify the highest standards of public service, which is why they received such robust support in the elections,” he remarked.
Kejriwal acknowledged the prevailing notion that 'good individuals should avoid politics', stating that AAP has dismantled this myth, paving the way for a fresh political dialogue in the nation.
“In Punjab, our administration has been relentlessly serving the public, and the results are evident in the bypolls. The overwhelming backing for the party in the Ludhiana bypoll indicates that AAP is poised to surpass its previous performance and reach over a hundred seats in the next elections,” he asserted.
The AAP leader pledged decisive action against drug-related issues in Punjab and reaffirmed the Bhagwant Mann government’s commitment to combat the drug mafia and networks within the state.
He further noted that residents of Gujarat are disillusioned with the current administration and are yearning for change.
“It is AAP that can offer a viable alternative in the state. The bypoll results signify that AAP is on a trajectory to establish the next government in Gujarat,” he emphasized.
Kejriwal also stated that the recent by-election results serve as a semi-final for the upcoming elections in both Gujarat and Punjab, scheduled for 2027, and expressed confidence that the party will secure over 100 seats in both states.
