New Delhi, July 8 (NationPress) In a scathing critique aimed at former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has accused the party of being built on deceit and corruption. He asserts that their recent electoral victories and aspirations on a national scale are nothing but empty promises.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS on Tuesday, Sirsa addressed the contentious allegations regarding the AAP's purported Khalistani associations. He leveled grave accusations against Kejriwal, highlighting ‘self-incriminating remarks’ made by the banned separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.
“It is widely recognized that anti-national factions have been backing Kejriwal. Pannun himself stated he transferred crores of rupees to Kejriwal. Kejriwal has neither denied nor clarified if he accepted that money. There’s no further explanation needed—Pannun’s own statements suffice,” Sirsa articulated.
He responded to accusations from the AAP that the BJP-led government in Delhi was targeting Purvanchali communities.
“That’s classic AAP behavior—lying is their primary skill. To be part of AAP, one must excel in both corruption and deceit. They mislead the public with unfounded claims, while the reality is starkly different,” he remarked.
Sirsa downplayed AAP’s performance in recent by-elections outside Delhi, including in Ludhiana West and Gujarat’s Visavadar, asserting that the party's national significance is minimal.
“One individual winning a seat is not impressive. Even lesser-known parties can secure one or two victories. AAP’s gains in Visavadar or Ludhiana hold little weight in the broader context. Even in Jammu and Kashmir, AAP had a candidate emerge victorious—it’s not remarkable,” he added.
On the contentious issue of AAP's alleged ties with Khalistani elements, Sirsa reiterated serious accusations against Kejriwal, referencing Pannun’s self-incriminating statements.
He also questioned Kejriwal’s prolonged absence from Delhi amid ongoing investigations, suggesting the Chief Minister is seeking political refuge in Punjab.
“Kejriwal cannot operate without authority. Since AAP governs Punjab, he remains there, relishing the security, vehicle, and helicopter privileges. He shows no interest in Delhi unless it brings direct benefits to him. His actions demonstrate a focus on retaining power rather than serving the public,” Sirsa concluded.
