Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 22 (NationPress) Emphasizing the significant transformation in Kerala's industrial scene driven by proactive government initiatives, Industries Minister P. Rajeeve engaged in over 30 individual discussions at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, showcasing the state's investment potential across various sectors.
During his interactions at the Invest Kerala Pavilion at WEF, Rajeeve highlighted several verticals, including high-tech industries and MSMEs, noting that Kerala is currently leading in the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) rankings in India.
This marked Kerala's inaugural participation in the 'India Pavilion', established by the central government at WEF.
The Invest Kerala Pavilion presented the state government’s New Industrial Policy (NIP) along with numerous groundbreaking initiatives that have established Kerala as a thriving industrial hub.
The India Pavilion was organized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India.
"We have had a productive series of meetings at WEF. Business leaders displayed significant interest in the transformation of our state’s industrial sector, bolstered by government policies. They also showed enthusiasm for the upcoming Invest Kerala Global Summit," Rajeeve remarked.
In addition to showcasing the state's core strengths such as the presence of highly skilled professionals, advanced infrastructure, and favorable government policies, the Minister conveyed that Kerala emphasizes sustainability and inclusivity.
Rajeeve underscored that sectors like IT/ITES, Spacetech, Medical Devices and Healthcare, Maritime infrastructure, and Tourism present promising investment prospects.
The Invest Kerala Pavilion generated excitement and is part of the India Pavilion, which promotes its theme 'We Are Changing the Nature of Business', concentrating on sustainable and accountable industrial objectives.
The pavilion highlights projects like the Vizhinjam International Port, the Palakkad Industrial Corridor, and Kerala's sustainable industrial framework. Kerala also showcased the accomplishments of its MSME sector through the Year of Entrepreneurship initiative, which facilitated the launch of 340,202 enterprises over three years.
These enterprises have attracted investments totaling Rs 21,838 crore and created 721,000 jobs.
Rajeeve is leading a distinguished delegation to WEF comprised of top government officials.
