Educator Faisal Khan, widely known as Khan Sir, has been named in a First Information Report (FIR) filed by Kadamkuan police in Patna in connection with a disturbance at his coaching institute on 2 June, officials confirmed. Two private security guards associated with the institute have already been arrested, and the probe is widening following the emergence of a video purportedly showing shots being fired into the air during the incident.

What the FIR Says

The case was registered on the basis of a written complaint filed by Kadamkuan Police Station Inspector Anil Kumar. It names Faisal Khan alias Khan Sir, the two arrested guards, and other unidentified persons. Charges include Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita — which pertains to attempt to murder — along with relevant provisions of the Arms Act. Investigators have alleged that the accused fired, or caused shots to be fired, with the intent of creating panic and fear among the public.

The Two Arrested Guards

The arrested security personnel have been identified as Talebar Singh and Pradeep Kumar, both residents of Uttar Pradesh. According to police, they produced arms licences issued outside Bihar. During interrogation, the two guards allegedly told investigators that they fired their .315-bore rifles on the instructions of Khan Sir, with each guard allegedly discharging two rounds. Both were subsequently produced before a district court, which remanded them to judicial custody.

The Video and Forensic Trail

The investigation took a significant turn after a video surfaced purportedly capturing the firing at around 10:10 pm on 2 June. Authorities have seized the firearms allegedly used and dispatched them for forensic and ballistic examination. Officials have not yet publicly released the results of either analysis. Investigators are also reviewing CCTV footage and recording witness statements as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Khan Sir's Own Statements

Immediately after the incident, Khan Sir had publicly stated that firing had taken place at the scene. He later walked back that claim, saying that because of the confusion and tension prevailing at the time, he could not clearly determine whether shots had actually been fired. His shifting account has drawn additional scrutiny from investigators.

The disturbance originated from a clash between two coaching institutes in Patna's Kadamkuan area that allegedly involved vandalism, assault, and stone-pelting.
