Bengaluru, May 20 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has criticized AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge for referring to Operation Sindoor as a mere small act of war, asserting that such comments are extremely disrespectful to the unparalleled bravery of the armed forces.
The State BJP President, B. Y. Vijayendra, remarked on Tuesday, "Mallikarjun Kharge ji, labeling India’s courageous military action as 'Chhutput Yudh' is not only reckless but also deeply disrespectful to the unmatched valor of our armed forces."
He emphasized that this operation is the most robust and well-planned military response to Pakistan since the Kargil War.
"Your party’s history starkly contrasts with this. Despite continuous provocations, from the devastating 7/11 Mumbai train blasts to numerous cross-border skirmishes, your UPA government opted for silence instead of strength, appeasement instead of decisive action. The nation remembers," Vijayendra asserted.
"No mission by our courageous forces is ever 'Chhutput'. Every operation embodies the weight of national pride and the sacrifices of our martyrs. Do not demean our soldiers’ sacrifices," he added.
On the same day, Congress President and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, referred to Operation Sindoor as a “small act of war.”
He stated, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to visit Kashmir on April 17, but intelligence advised him against it, resulting in the cancellation of his visit. If he was aware of this, why didn’t he inform the tourists through the police when he scrapped the plan?” This was said during the Samarpane Sankalpa rally in Hospet town, commemorating two years of Congress-led governance in the state.
Kharge suggested that if the Prime Minister had issued a warning, 26 lives could have been spared.
He further commented, “Had you alerted the public regarding these minor incidents of war or the ongoing conflicts with Pakistan, this could have been avoided,” referring to Operation Sindoor.
Kharge accused PM Modi of remaining silent about the Pahalgam incident, stating, “This is intolerable. We stand united as a nation. Caste and religion come after that.”
He claimed that PM Modi is being prioritized over national interests, saying, “There were threats reported in Kashmir, yet he failed to share this information with the public.”
Furthermore, Kharge affirmed that both PM Modi and the Opposition are aligned with the nation's interests.
