New Delhi, Sep 2 (NationPress) Just hours after the Election Commission (EC) issued a notice to Pawan Khera regarding the possession of two EPIC cards and requested clarification about his voter registration in two Delhi constituencies, the senior Congress spokesperson took a jab at the electoral body, stating, “This is yet another demonstration of how the Election Commission operates to favor the ruling regime.”
Khera took to X to express his views, stating, “The District Election Office in New Delhi has sent me a notice. This further affirms how the Election Commission is biased towards the ruling party. While our allegations of 'Vote Theft' are ignored, the EC swiftly acts against opposition members. Why hasn’t the @ECISVEEP issued a notice regarding the 100,000 fake voters in the Mahadevapura constituency, highlighted by Rahul Gandhi? We will continue to expose the EC’s misconduct in the Bihar SIR and other electoral processes.”
The notice from the New Delhi Electoral Officer pointed out the two voter ID cards under the name of Pawan Khera, stating, “Notice to Shri Pawan Khera for registering in the Electoral Roll of more than one constituency.”
This notice came to light after revelations of Pawan Khera holding two voter IDs from the two Assembly constituencies – New Delhi and Jangpura.
Khera, who heads the party’s media and publicity department, responded to the earlier revelations, asserting that this situation validates their claims of ‘vote theft’ and underscores the “systematic failures of the poll panel in maintaining electoral rolls.”
Earlier, BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya shared images of the voter list from the two mentioned Assembly constituencies and alleged that the Congress leader possesses two active EPIC numbers.
Notably, Khera has been a leading figure in the party’s campaign against supposed voter fraud and the revision of voter lists.
In a previous statement to IANS, Khera denied the allegations, stating, “This is precisely what we have been highlighting. I relocated from that area in 2016, yet my name was never removed. The rolls have been revised 4–5 times since then. If you check, you’ll see it has been 9 years since I moved. This reveals how BLOs (Booth Level Officers) operate during roll revision.
“Whether the question comes from Anurag Thakur, Amit Malviya, or the Congress party, it all points back to the Election Commission and its functioning. This is why the Congress is demanding transparency: Varanasi’s machine-readable voter list, Maharashtra’s booth-wise CCTV footage—none of this information is being provided. This is why we refer to it as vote theft.”
