Kolkata, Oct 4 (NationPress) The government of West Bengal is prepared to host the Durga Puja carnival on Red Road in Kolkata this coming Sunday. As in previous years, numerous notable puja committees will be taking part in this festive event.

The event will be attended by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, along with her Cabinet ministers and other esteemed guests. In light of this, Kolkata Police have implemented stringent security measures to guarantee the smooth execution of the puja carnival, which signifies the conclusion of the Durga Puja celebrations in the city.

According to sources from Kolkata Police, a significant number of police officers will be stationed on Red Road on Sunday. It has been reported that approximately 106 puja committees will be involved in the festivities.

Both Red Road and Kidderpore Road will be closed on Sunday, with the idols in the vicinity being positioned from Saturday night.

Each idol will have an assigned police officer during the carnival, and a safe distance will be maintained between the various puja committees.
