Hyderabad, March 19 (NationPress) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao has criticized the Telangana budget for 2025-26, labeling it a ‘40 percent commission budget.

He referred to the budget as a total betrayal of the people of Telangana, who are left with "zero benefits". He characterized it as a reflection of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s inefficiency, incompetence, and administrative failure.

Rama Rao condemned the Congress party for undermining the progress achieved over the past decade under BRS governance, accusing them of being more interested in sending "bags of money" to Delhi rather than keeping their promises to the people of Telangana. He branded it a "40 percent commission budget" that prioritizes political ambition over the welfare of the public.

KTR highlighted that the much-publicized six guarantees promised within 100 days have turned out to be empty promises. After a lengthy speech by Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, it became evident that these guarantees are merely a hollow chant of "Govinda Govinda".

The Congress party, he argued, has buried its own affidavit—once held in high regard—after winning votes through false commitments. The poor, women, farmers, and the elderly in Telangana awaited the budget with optimism, but critical promises like Rs 2,500 monthly for women under Mahalakshmi, Rs 4,000 pensions for the elderly, and "tula of gold" were noticeably absent, leaving these groups in shock and disappointment.

He further criticized the financial mismanagement. While the BRS government borrowed Rs 4.17 lakh crore over 10 years, the Congress managed to accumulate Rs 1.6 lakh crore in just one year, without introducing any new projects or schemes to justify this debt.

KTR ridiculed their claim of a "trillion-dollar economy", stating they don’t even grasp the magnitude of such a figure, yet seem determined to accumulate a "trillion-dollar debt". He blamed Revanth Reddy’s detrimental policies for a Rs 73,000 crore drop in state revenue, questioning why Bhatti Vikramarka’s "realistic budget" fell short when the CM himself acknowledged this shortfall.

KTR accused Congress of betraying every segment of society. Over 100 auto drivers have taken their own lives due to the free bus scheme, yet the promised Auto Drivers’ Welfare Board is missing from the budget, leaving eight lakh auto drivers statewide in distress. Rahul Gandhi’s promises of a board for gig workers like Swiggy and Zomato employees and two lakh jobs in the first year remain unfulfilled, with unemployed youth mocking the government’s claims of issuing appointment letters for BRS-era notifications.

KTR alleged that Congress’ focus is on "Moosi lootification" to divert funds to Delhi, escalating from a 20 percent to a 40 percent commission system. He claimed they plan to distribute Rs 6,000 crore to Congress workers like "jaggery and dal", but warned that the people won’t tolerate Telangana’s wealth being misappropriated.

While farmers are committing suicide, the government disgracefully organizes beauty contests and boasts about them in the budget. KTR demanded they cease sending funds to Delhi and address farmers’ distress.

The BRS leader described the budget as one that undermines welfare and erases development’s identity. Over 10 years, BRS borrowed Rs 40,000 crore annually, while Revanth Reddy’s one-year Rs 1.6 lakh crore debt has produced no new initiatives, with further borrowing on the horizon.
