Mahakumbh Nagar, Jan 19 (NationPress) In an exclusive interview with IANS, Karauli Shankar Mahadev reflected on the magnificence of the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, emphasizing the importance of Sanatan culture, spirituality, and the essence of life.
Karauli Shankar Mahadev expressed admiration for the Kumbh's arrangements, describing the atmosphere as extraordinary and unique. He pointed out the divine influence of gurus, which imparts a special essence to the gathering.
"This is the reason why followers of Sanatan Dharma are eager to attend the Kumbh. For those seeking understanding of life, participating in the Kumbh is crucial. They gain the fellowship of saints. This Maha Kumbh opens its doors to all. The message of the Kumbh resonates in every corner, sparking enthusiasm among people. More individuals should participate, focusing not only on physical cleanliness but also on mental purity," he remarked.
Addressing the importance of the Maha Kumbh within Sanatan Dharma, he stated, "Sanatan Dharma has been cherished since ancient times. The Maha Kumbh occurs during specific celestial alignments, and attendees need not necessarily bathe in the Ganges. On a mental level, individuals connect with the event's purpose. This is not merely a miracle but a principle. Bathing at auspicious times, aided by celestial forces, grants us unique benefits."
On the Kumbh's greatest miracle, he asserted, "The most profound miracle is self-awareness. If a person truly understands themselves, nothing else matters. This is the wisdom we must cultivate. The essence flowing in this Kumbh should be embraced by your mind. Carry pure, spiritual, and religious thoughts with you. Bathing in the Kumbh is not essential. Those who come here contribute in various ways. If bathing is not feasible, one may take a pot of water from the Triveni Sangam for use during their home bath. This too can lead to salvation."
On the global influence of Hindu culture, he commented, "Hindu culture captivates the entire world. Sanatan Dharma signifies what is eternal, unending, and indestructible. We must comprehend the systems and live in harmony with them for mutual benefit. Sanatan Dharma embodies the five eternal elements. Grasping and adhering to this framework brings inner tranquility and enduring joy, referred to as bliss. This bliss is the ultimate pursuit for all. Thus, people worldwide are attracted to Sanatan culture. Today, the essence of Hindu Sanatan culture is prevalent everywhere. We adhere to the teachings of our rishis, munis, and gurus.
He further elaborated on human nature, stating, "When individuals tire of indulgence, they may seek renunciation. After renouncing, they might revert to indulgence. This cycle persists, but understanding oneself allows one to transcend both indulgence and renunciation, utilizing things meaningfully."
Karauli Shankar Mahadev also expressed his views on individuals who engage in superficial displays under the pretense of being saints. He remarked, "Some use glamour and attention-seeking behaviors within the saintly community. Such individuals should not be accommodated. If they meditate quietly, there is no issue, but glamour has no place here. Internal glamour is irrelevant. One must steer clear of these distractions. I believe that those saints genuinely connected to the guru tradition command great respect and uphold the dignity of Hindu Sanatan culture."
He emphasized that Sanatan culture is rooted in tolerance and nourishment rather than rebellion. "Our esteemed leaders and sages sacrificed immensely to uphold its dignity, and we must ensure we remain on this path. We should not be swayed by excessive fervor, nor take laws into our own hands. We ought to expand our own paths without infringing on others. Followers of Sanatan culture will always be safeguarded by the law. It is imperative that we regard the Constitution as the highest authority in today’s society."
