Hyderabad, Nov 4 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, issued a bold challenge to Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday, urging him to ensure that a First Information Report (FIR) is lodged by the CBI in connection with the Kaleshwaram irrigation project before the deadline of November 11.
He criticized Kishan Reddy for his refusal to heed the state government's appeal to the Central authorities for a CBI investigation into the alleged scam surrounding the Kaleshwaram project, daring the Union Minister to initiate a CBI case against him.
The Chief Minister lambasted the BJP for the inaction of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which has yet to register a case despite the state government's decision to transfer the matter to the agency three months prior.
Reddy spoke during a meeting as part of the Congress party's campaign for the upcoming by-election in the Jubilee Hills Assembly district.
Recalling Kishan Reddy's previous assertions that if the case was handed to the CBI, former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) would be jailed within 48 hours, Reddy remarked, “The BJP alleged that Kaleshwaram was an ATM for the KCR family. Union ministers from Telangana had also indicated that KCR and Harish Rao would face incarceration within a day and a half if the investigation was assigned to the CBI. Yet now, the Union government has reversed its stance and taken no action even after the state government's formal request for a CBI inquiry,” he stated.
The Chief Minister further questioned Kishan Reddy for failing to authorize the arrest of BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao concerning the Formula E race scandal.
“Despite seeking the Governor's permission to arrest KTR in the Formula E case, two months have passed with no response,” he said.
He reiterated his belief that the BJP and BRS share a Fevicol bond.
Reddy accused the BJP of covertly supporting BRS in the Jubilee Hills by-election and forecasted that a merger between BRS and BJP was on the horizon, citing KCR's daughter Kavitha's proposal for such a union.
The Chief Minister assured that the state government would allocate 4,000 homes to deserving individuals in the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency immediately following the by-election.
He claimed that the People’s Government has provided various welfare benefits, including 14,197 ration cards, 200 units of free electricity to 25,925 families, and 23,311 quintals of fine rice distributed to the impoverished each month within the constituency.
