Hyderabad, Sep 1 (NationPress) K. T. Rama Rao, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), declared on Monday that the party is prepared to fight both legally and politically against any conspiracy by the Congress government. His remarks followed the state government's decision to transfer the investigation into alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram irrigation project, initiated during BRS's governance, to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Rama Rao expressed his views on ‘X’ in response to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's announcement in the state Assembly late Sunday night, which came after a lengthy debate regarding the findings of the P.C. Ghose Commission, which examined the supposed irregularities in the project.
“The Currency Manager (CM) of Rahul Gandhi in Telangana has chosen to hand over the Kaleshwaram case to CBI. The same CBI that Rahul Gandhi famously labeled an ‘Opposition Elimination Cell’ for the BJP. Are you aware, Mr. Gandhi, of what your CM is doing?” KTR wrote.
“Bring on whatever you conspire against us; we will confront it legally and politically. We have trust in the judiciary and the public. Satyameva Jayate!” he emphasized.
The BRS party had staged a walkout from the Assembly during the discussion on the Ghose Commission report to protest what they described as insufficient time allotted for their members to discuss the report. BRS lawmakers destroyed the Commission’s report and discarded it.
After the walkout, KTR informed the press that the Congress government's Kaleshwaram report is nothing more than a fabricated, politically motivated document.
“We cannot believe that an Hon'ble judge like P.C. Ghose would produce such a report. For 55 years, the state of Telangana struggled with water shortages, and only after Telangana's formation, the BRS Party and KCR garu rectified this historical injustice by constructing the world's largest lift irrigation project, Kaleshwaram. We will contest this report legally and politically,” he stated.
Labeling the Ghose Commission report a “trash report,” he accused the Congress party of colluding with the BJP to permanently terminate Telangana’s essential project.
The BRS leader claimed that the ruling party stifled the opposition’s voice in the Assembly. “Our members were not permitted to speak. Even when Harish Rao attempted to make valid points, the Chief Minister and Ministers shouted him down. The Speaker behaved as if nothing was wrong,” he noted.
KTR insisted that Kaleshwaram, the world's largest lift irrigation scheme, is a remarkable engineering achievement and a lifeline for countless farmers. “We will not permit any attempts to undermine this project. If necessary, we will take our fight to the public through a mass movement,” he affirmed.
The BRS leader accused Congress of intentionally inflating figures to fabricate a false narrative of corruption. “Repairs to the Medigadda barrage will cost merely ₹350 crore. Yet, the government claims losses of ₹1 lakh crore. Even Revanth Reddy’s relatives are questioning how ₹94,000 crore suddenly became ₹1 lakh crore,” KTR remarked.
